So gesehen kann man sagen, das dass Äquivalenzprinzip hier genau so genau/ungenau bzw. "lokal" gilt, wie man das auch sonst kennt (Beispiele s.o.).
Die Situation, case a] beschreibt ja "A particle in superposition at two different fixed heights above the Earth, [...]".
